Designed to endure - a closer look at Pienza's architecture

Designed by SJB, Pienza was envisioned as a collection of residences with house-like proportions in the heart of Neutral Bay – combining the generosity and character of a freestanding home with the ease and convenience of village living. The architecture and design responds thoughtfully to its setting, creating a seamless transition between the vibrant energy of the village below and the calm sanctuary of home above.

Defined by soft curves, sculpted forms and finely crafted detailing, the architecture embodies a sense of quiet luxury that feels contemporary yet enduring. Natural materials continue this approach inside, with warm timber floors, natural stone and marble and carefully considered joinery creating spaces that are tactile, refined and designed for everyday living.

As part of the shoot, Cieran captured an intimate perspective of two exceptional residences. One is a spacious three-bedroom home with a dedicated media room and sweeping north-facing views across Middle Harbour. The other is a three-bedroom cross-flow residence, where curved architectural forms and a carefully considered floorplan create a natural sense of flow between living spaces.
