Pearl Bondi breaks ground

Located at 20–22 Sandridge Street, Pearl will deliver a rare collection of just seven residences – two private houses and five apartments – designed for considered coastal living in one of Sydney’s most tightly held locations.

Pearl brings together a carefully selected team of design and delivery partners. Architecture is by MHN Design Union, with interiors by Madeleine Blanchfield Architects, while CE is both the builder and developer. Kinkora is joint venture partner, with MA Financial as funding partner.

The groundbreaking was marked on site with key stakeholders and members of the project team gathering to celebrate the next chapter for this unique Bondi site. Our Head of Construction Adrian Banks welcomed guests and spoke to the commencement of construction and the team behind the project, while Amanda Stollery, Director at MHN Design Union, shared insights into the design vision for Pearl and the opportunity to create something distinctive within its Bondi Beach setting.

Guests were welcomed with barista-made coffee and pastries before joining the project team for the official soil-turning and a series of photographs to mark the milestone.

The event brought together key leaders Dean Chivas, General Manager of Central Element; Adrian Banks, Head of Construction at CE; Madeleine Blanchfield, Founder and Director of Madeleine Blanchfield Architects; Amanda Stollery, Director at MHN Design Union; Tony Massaro, Investment Manager at Kinkora; Heath Grundy, Investment Manager at MA Financial and Eddie Mansour, Managing Partner at Ray White Projects, alongside the wider project team.

For CE, Pearl represents another significant addition to our growing Eastern Suburbs portfolio. It follows the recent completion of Ballamac House in Coogee, where we sensitively restored the historic 1860s residence into eight luxury homes, and builds on our continued focus on creating distinctive, high-quality residential projects in some of Sydney’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.

With construction now underway, Pearl marks the next chapter for this unique Bondi site. We look forward to bringing the project to life and creating a collection of homes that responds to its exceptional coastal setting.
