Four CE Projects Named Finalists in the 2026 Urban Taskforce Development Excellence Awards

We’re proud to share that four Central Element projects have been named finalists in the 2026 Urban Taskforce Development Excellence Awards. Spanning adaptive reuse, mixed-use, heritage restoration and boutique residential, the recognition reflects the breadth of projects we’ve delivered across Sydney and our continued focus on creating places with enduring architectural, cultural and community value.

25hours Hotel Sydney The Olympia

Delivered in partnership with leading international hospitality brands – 25hours, Ennismore and The Paskin Group, 25hours Hotel Sydney The Olympia transforms the historic West Olympia Theatre into Sydney’s first 25hours Hotel.

The adaptive reuse project combines heritage restoration with contemporary hospitality, delivering 109 guest rooms, multiple hospitality venues and a rooftop bar while contributing to the revitalisation of Oxford Street’s Golden Mile cultural precinct.

Ballamac Coogee

Ballamac Coogee carefully restores and integrates the historic 1860s Ballamac sandstone residence within a boutique collection of eight luxury coastal homes overlooking Coogee’s north headland.

The project balances heritage conservation with contemporary coastal architecture, creating a highly considered residential offering that respects both the history and natural character of the site.

Ethos Chatswood

Designed in partnership with SJB, Ethos Chatswood delivers 49 luxury residences above retail and commercial space in the heart of Chatswood CBD.

The project was designed specifically for owner-occupiers and downsizers, combining larger-format residences, wellness-focused amenity and a sculptural architectural response that establishes a new benchmark for boutique apartment living in Chatswood.

Pienza Neutral Bay

Pienza is a boutique mixed-use development in the heart of Neutral Bay Village, comprising 37 oversized residences above more than 2,000sqm of curated retail and dining.

Designed in collaboration with SJB and Arcadia, the project combines house-like living, resort-style amenity and significant public domain improvements across three street frontages.

We’d like to congratulate our fellow finalists recognised in this year’s awards and thank our project partners, consultants and teams who helped bring each of these developments to life.

The winners will be announced at the awards night on Thursday 25th June.
