Held onsite at 39 Arcadia Street, the official ceremony brought together key figures behind the project – including Nathan Chivas, Managing Director at CE; Dean Chivas, General Manager of Developments at CE; Hayden Callaghan, Head of Construction at CE; Sarah Boland, Senior Development Manager at CE; Tim Greer, Director at Tonkin Zulaikha Greer (TZG); Todd Solman, Associate at TZG; and Julie Mackenzie, Director of Heritage + Adaptive Reuse at TZG.

The event was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the hard work and commitment involved in reaching this significant milestone just six months after construction began, as well as the collaborative vision driving the project forward.

“We’re incredibly proud to reach this milestone at Ballamac House. Achieving this after only six months of construction reflects the dedication and expertise of our talented team and we’re committed to delivering an incredible development that will become the hallmark of modern luxury living in the Eastern suburbs.”

Hayden Callaghan

Head of Construction at Central Element

“Topping out at Ballamac House is a significant achievement for Central Element. It signifies not only the hard work of our team but also the vision we have for creating a unique residential development that integrates Coogee’s rich history with contemporary luxury. Ballamac is the first of three premium residential products that CE will deliver to Sydney’s East, along with our Sandridge Street project and our latest Lamrock Avenue development.”

Managing Director of Central Element

Originally built in the 1860s, the illustrious Ballamac House is being thoughtfully transformed into one of the Eastern Suburbs’ most prestigious collections of eight luxury residences across two distinct buildings – a contemporary new build and the meticulously restored original heritage house.

The residences are designed in collaboration with renowned architects and heritage experts Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, interior experts Mim Design, and landscape architects JILA — each bringing their expertise to reimagine this historic site for modern living.

With construction now progressing towards final fit-out and completion, Ballamac House remains firmly on track for its scheduled completion in December 2025.
