“On behalf of the Central Element team and Boston Global our Joint Venture partners, we are extremely excited to be officially celebrating the commencement of construction of our 25hours Hotel Paddington today. Situated in the heart of the Oxford Street Village Centre near the Sydney CBD at the historic 1-11 Oxford Street Paddington, the original building was the site of Marshall’s Paddington Brewery before being replaced by West’s Olympia Pictures in 1911 – becoming a destination for Sydney’s movie lovers for nearly 50 years. In the 90’s, it was home to the Grand Pacific Blue Room – one of Sydney’s hottest nightclubs. Now, the historic location will embark on a new era, set to become one of Australia’s leading leisure and lifestyle precincts under the 25hours Hotel.
“We are excited to be bringing 25hours to Sydney. The hotel experience will be uniquely characterised by its Paddington location – reflecting the diverse creative and cultural scene of the neighbourhood and the local community. The rooftop bar, hotel suites, restaurant, art and entertainment spaces will be carefully curated with local flavour and will be a must-visit destination for Sydney residents and hotel guests alike.”
Sarah Derry
Chief Executive Officer, Accor
“This development plays an important part in the future of Oxford Street and the future of the city. The 25hours Paddington, restaurants, bars, live performance and music space will add a new vibrancy and diversity to this precinct, creating a dynamic and adventurous community and draw international and local visitors to the city.”
